Chemistry graduate student Kunal Keskar's paper on the silver(I)-catalyzed "click reaction" (Huisgen cycloaddition) currently ranks as the number one accessed full paper in the European Journal of Organic Chemistry. The work is a full account of the discovery of the first examples of ligated silver(I) catalysis in the Huisgen reaction. A pronounced ligand effect was discovered allowing the authors to propose a catalytic cycle ascribing a significant role to the hemi-labile nature of the ligand critical to the success of the catalyst.
