Faculty Positions

The Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology at McMaster University solicits applications to fill a  tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of biointerfaces chemistry , effective July 1, 2013.  Applications are encouraged in all areas of biointerfaces chemistry, including preparation, characterization, modeling or applications of biointerfaces.  Scientists with research interests that have applications in the biosciences, environmental science and materials/nanoscience areas are encouraged to apply.

Teaching Assistant (TA)Positions

At the beginning of Fall, Winter and Spring terms, part-time TAs are needed for first year chemistry labs, 65 hours/term, lab hours 8:15 - 11:30 a.m. or 2:15 - 5:30 p.m. . TAs are to supervise the experiments, help students and mark lab reports. Lab groups are ~20 students. TAs must have WHIMIS training, a good knowledge of basic chemistry and some lab skills.

There are often teaching assistant positions open in CHEM2OA3/2OB3.  Resumes are continually being accepted in case hires are necessary. Please email resumes to Greg Bahun (bahungj@mcmaster.ca). Candidates with an undergraduate degree in chemistry are preferred. Experience TAing chemistry courses and a good background in organic laboratory techniques are essential qualifications.
