This is a reminder that the 11th annual David B. MacLean Lecture Series will take place this Wednesday and Thursday.  This year's MacLean Lecturer is Prof. Tobias Ritter, from Harvard University.  Prof. Ritter is a world leader in the fields of synthetic organic and organometallic chemistry, with an aim toward the synthesis of biologically active natural and unnatural products.  He has carried out extremely creative and transformative chemistry that impacts both fundamental and applied research.  He has received numerous awards and honours, including the Popular Science Brilliant 10 Award, Camille Dreyfus Teacher Scholar Award, Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship, NSF Career Award, and the Roslyn Abramson Award for Excellence in Teaching Undergraduates. 

Professor Ritter will give two lectures as follows:
"Late Stage Fluorination for PET Imaging"
Wednesday, May 14th, 2:30 pm, ABB 102
"Carbon-Heteroatom Bond Formation  by Redox Catalysis"
Thursday, May 15th, 1:30 pm, ABB 102
As in previous years, we will host a reception in Prof. Ritter's honour immediately following his first lecture (Wednesday), in ABB 273.
