510
The Nicolet 510 FTIR spectrometer was a workhorse for many years within many research laboratories, not only for its rugged design, but its ability to be upgraded. This system was built in 1989 and has gone through a few upgrades to where it is now working on Windows XP service pack 3. The spectrometer is equipped with a DTGS detector and a KBr beam splitter. Many of the accessories that fit in the Thermo Nicolet 6700 also fit in this spectrometer, giving it a versatility that most other spectrometers of its age do not have.
