The Cary 50 UV-Vis spectrophotometer is equipped with a Xenon Arc lamp and capable of scanning from 190 to 1100 nm.  The standard sized cuvettes of 1 cm path length are normally used for analyzing samples.  The software installed for the instrument allows for a wide range of experiments from just simple reads at a fixed wavelength right up to the ability to perfrom kinetics experiments.
