Requests for training on the equipment within the CAOS Facility are accepted.  To enquire about training or to request training, please fill in the form below and email the CAOS Facility Manager, Dr. Kornic. Training requests will be reviewed and dates set based on upon confrimation of safety training.

• FTIR

Training is available within the Far, Mid, Near and Visible regions of the spectrum on the Nicolet 6700.  Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR), Diffuse Reflectance (DRIFTS), Transmission, Grazing Angle Reflectance and Liquid Cells are all available for training purposes.

• UV-Vis

Many methods are available for the two Cary UV-Vis instruments within the facility.  These include scanning over a region, simpe and advanced reads at a particular wavelength, kinetics and temperature dependent studies (only the Cary 300 has temperature control).

• Elemental Analysis

Due to the nature of the instrument, no training is offered, but demonstrations can be arranged upon request.

• Laser Raman

Training for the collection of a simple spectrum,  up to mapping for a single component and even depth analysis.

• Sample Preparation

Training is offered in all types of sample preparation.
