Sample Submission from Outside the University Community
Samples may be submitted to the CAOS Facility by mail or courier to the following address

- Samples submitted for analysis are done in the order they arrive, time for analysis varies and can be checked up on the facility status page. If samples are high priority, it must be clearly marked and an extra fee will be applied.
- Samples must be clearly marked and identified within the package, must be sealed and the submission sheet filled out and sent with the sample, or emailed to the manager prior to shipping.
- You can check current turn-around times for sample analysis on the Facility Status Page.
- Samples can be run as a priority, but will be charged extra.
Analyses Available
- FTIR - spectrum and analysis, quantitation can be done, but will often require 4 weeks to complete.
- UV-Vis - both qualitative and quantitative measurements
- Raman - qualitative and mapping results can be performed
- Elemental Analysis - can be performed on carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and sulfur, with oxygen as a second analysis. It is preferred to run the samples in duplicate or triplicate to ensure sample homogeneity
- For elemental analysis, ensure that 30 mg are sent and that they are free flowing, dry samples.
- Method development is also offered for samples that you want to how much of what a component or components there are in your sample
