Facility Access

*** NEW *** We are participating in the construction of the new MIPBF (McMaster Intense Positron Beam Facility) at the McMaster Nuclear Reactor, which will give us access to Positron Annihilation Induced Auger Electron Spectroscopy (PAES) and Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy (PAS) for surface and thin film materials characterization.

The Brockhouse Institute for Materials Research (BIMR) (incl. the Canadian Centre for Electron Microscopy) and the Centre for Emerging Device Technologies at McMaster already have MBE and other facilities dedicated to III-V compound semiconductor processing and characterisation.

Southern Ontario hosts a large number of surface characterization facilities, such as Interface Science Western, Surface Science Western, Surface Interface Ontario, WatLabs and the Electrochemical Technology Centre.

We also have access to the Canadian Light Source in Saskatoon. This allows us to perform XPS and X-PEEM studies.
