Executive Roles
President: The role of the club president is to oversee all club activities and decide on future courses of action. Only previous executives may apply for this position.VP Admin: The role of the Vice President (Administration) is to ensure that the operations of the society remains organized. Previous executives are preferred, but qualified individuals will also be considered for this position.
VP Finance: The role of the Vice President (Finance) is to keep careful track of all society expenditures and incomes. A previous background of finance, accounting, or economics is preferred. Previous executives are preferred, but qualified individuals will also be considered for this position.
VP Academic: The main role of the Vice President (Academic) is to plan the annual Graduate Information Session. This event is an enormous undertaking which requires the dedication of this individual. Previous executives are preferred, but qualified individuals will also be considered for this position. Currently this position has been incorporated into the Presidents' role.
VP Social: The role of the Vice President (Social) is to plan and organize the social events that the MUSCS will hold over the year. This includes pub nights, keggers, and other non-drinking related activities. Previous executives are preferred, but qualified individuals will also be considered for this position.
Program Year Representatives: Both program streams (chemistry and chemical biology) have representatives for each individual cohort year. These individuals are responsible for communicating society events to their classes, and providing a personal line of communication between the students and the society. There are traditionally two representatives per program year. All chemistry and chemical biology students may apply to be representatives for their respective program years.
Webmaster: The webmaster is in charge of ensuring the website is kept up to date. Strong technological competencies are required, along with basic HTML skills. Only qualified individuals should apply for this position. Please note: this is not an executive position. Applicants who have applied for an executive position should submit a separate application for this position.
