McMaster Regional Centre for Mass Spectrometry (MRCMS)
The McMaster Regional Centre for Mass Spectrometry (MRCMS) was officially opened in 1986 with funding provided by NSERC and McMaster University grants. Operated by a professional manager and a Research Scientist, MRCMS houses seven state-of-the-art mass spectrometers. This world class facility:
- Analyzes approximately 4000 samples per year
- Provides service to McMaster community, external institutions and corporations
- Offers 2-day turn around for most, regular samples
- Will develop special projects as per client requests
- Is one of the best equipped in Canada for the structural elucidation/analysis of unknown organic, inorganic, and biochemical materials
- Observes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), instrument validation and documentation practices in adherence to the guidelines of Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices (GLP/GMP)
