Experiment 4. Nucleophilic Substitution and Properties of Alkanes & Alkenes

This Experiment has TWO parts. In Part A you will carry out a series of nucleophilic substitution reactions and analyze the products by gas-liquid chromatography (glc) and in Part B you will carry out tests on alkanes and alkenes. Part A is to be done in pairs. You should start Part A immediately and carry out Part B during the reflux period(s) or while you are waiting for your glc time slot.
